What's the catch?
No catch, but there is a shape to it. Generation is free for the first rows of every dataset and metered in credits past that, which the limits answer below puts numbers on. The caps that are not about price: 200 MB on the generated download, and 5 GB of stored datasets per account. A typical 15-column table generates 200,000 rows in about 12 seconds. If you need more, tell us; when there is enough demand to support it, we will lift the ceilings.
Is SynthForge IO really free?
Yes, up to a generous point. No sign-up fees, no credit card, no trial timer, no per-feature paywall. Every field type, every export format, AI-assisted schema design, and multi-table foreign-key integrity are included at zero cost, and every dataset starts with a free row allowance. Past that, generation is billed in credits; schema design and everything else stay free.
What are the actual limits?
Per table: up to 1,000,000 rows. Per dataset: the first 20,000 rows are free, and the 1,000,000-row-per-table cap still bounds the top end; rows beyond that are billed in credits, from about 2 credits for a small dataset to 41 for a full 1,000,000-row one. There is also a 200 MB cap on the generated download, and on wide, text-heavy tables that is the one you meet first: 25 columns including free text reaches 200 MB at roughly 575,000 rows. For speed, a typical 15-column table generates 200,000 rows in about 12 seconds, and a 25-column table generates 500,000 rows in about 40 seconds. Per-account storage: 5 GB of stored datasets. Per-account rate limits on AI schema calls and on generation throughput exist to protect the shared service. No row cap on schema design, no feature gating.
I'm hitting the limits. What can I do?
Credits are a cent each: $5 buys 500. Bigger packs add bonus credits, so $50 buys 6,000 and $100 buys 13,000. Beyond that, tell us. We tune the defaults based on actual usage, and if there is enough demand to support raising them, we will.
Where does my data go?
Generation runs on our hosted cloud service. Generated datasets are stored encrypted for roughly 24 hours so you can download them, then automatically deleted.
