Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SynthForge ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SynthForge is a synthetic data generation platform that uses artificial intelligence to help users create realistic test data based on database schemas. The Service allows you to:

  • Define database schemas manually or with AI assistance
  • Import schemas from various sources (CSV files, JSON, SQL DDL, MongoDB collections)
  • Generate synthetic datasets based on those schemas
  • Export generated data in various formats (CSV, JSON, Parquet, SQL, MongoDB)
  • Save schemas as reusable templates

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Generate data that violates any applicable laws or regulations
  • Create data intended to deceive, defraud, or harm others
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or compromise the Service
  • Circumvent usage limits or access controls
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use automated systems to access the Service beyond normal API usage

5. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses third-party AI providers to assist with schema generation and data creation. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may not always be accurate or suitable for your needs
  • You are responsible for reviewing and validating any generated content before use
  • Generated data is synthetic and should not be used as real personal data
  • Your inputs may be processed by third-party AI providers subject to their terms

6. Synthetic Data Usage

Data generated by SynthForge is synthetic and artificially created. It should only be used for legal purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Software testing and development
  • Application demonstrations and prototypes
  • Training and educational purposes
  • Quality assurance and performance testing

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of generated data complies with all applicable laws and regulations. You agree that generated data must not be used to:

  • Deceive, defraud, or mislead any person or organization
  • Impersonate real individuals or create false identities for malicious purposes
  • Violate any person's privacy, intellectual property, or other rights
  • Facilitate any illegal activity or cause harm to others

By using SynthForge, you acknowledge that you understand the synthetic nature of the generated data and accept full responsibility for how you use it.

7. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain ownership of the schemas you create and the data you generate. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service.

Our Service: The Service, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.

8. Service Availability and Changes

We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or any specific uptime. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

9. Usage Limits

The Service may impose limits on data generation, storage, and API usage. These limits may vary based on your account type. Exceeding limits may result in temporary restrictions on your account.

10. Data Retention

Generated datasets may be automatically deleted after a period of inactivity to manage storage. You are responsible for downloading and backing up any data you wish to keep. We are not responsible for data loss due to automatic cleanup or service changes.

11. Data Logging

Schema descriptions and prompts you submit to our AI are logged for the following purposes:

  • Troubleshooting and debugging service issues
  • Abuse prevention and content policy enforcement
  • Legal compliance and accountability

These logs are automatically purged after 30 days. We do not use your prompts to train AI models. Your schema structures and generated data are stored separately under your account and are not subject to this 30-day purge policy.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT GENERATED DATA WILL MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated terms on the website. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
